 Some scientists believe it and some of them not , but we have created a new problem that affects the enviroment.

WHAT IS PLASTIC GARBAGE?

  • As the world population continues to grow, so that does the amount of garbage that people produce.
  • Plastic is a very useful material but it es also made out from toxic elements.
  • Plastic is thought to be durable but not biodegradable.
  • Our lifestyles require easily disposable products.
  • The accumulation of these products has led to the increase of plastic pollution all around the world.

CAUSES, CONSEQUENCES AND SOLUTIONS

  • CAUSES:
     - Plastic is everywhere so it is overused.
     - Fishing nets make aquatic animals die and suffer.
     - Plastic in nearly imppossible to break down.
  • CONSEQUENCES:
     - It absets the food chain.
     - Groundwater, land and air pollution.
     - Kills animals.
     - It is poisonous.
     - It is expensive.
  • TOP 10 THINGS WE CAN DO TO REDUCE PLASTIC GARBAGE:
     - Recycle everything
     - Reuse things at home
     - When you go shopping, don't forget to take a paper or cloth bag.
     - Don't buy bottled water.
     - Forget to-go containers.
     - Get involved on speaking and writing so people know this problem.
     - Purchase items secondhand.
     - Buy in bulk.
     - Prohibite microbeads.
     - Participate on a beach or river cleanup.

FUN FACT

We use over 300 million tonnes of new plastic every year.  Half of this we use just once and usually for less than 12 minutes.  8 million tonnes of plastic waste ends up in the ocean every year.
